50% Of Property Investors Pressured By Friends For Discounts
According to a recent survey of over 3,000 people by Post Office Travel Insurance, more than 80% of property investors are being flooded with requests from friends/family for ‘freebie’ or discounted stays in their holiday homes.
But are they broaching the subject in the right way? It would seem not…
Whilst many property investors were keen to help their friends and family, lack of sensitivity on the topic left 50% of them feeling pressurised to let them stay in their property lets, even when it wasn’t convenient.
But this is not all…
Post Office Travel Insurance divulged that:
- 33% of these requests came from friends, 20% from parents and 14% from their children
- 58% expected to get a discount
- 22% expected to stay in the holiday home for free
Examining these figures, it is only understandable that 20% of property investors only have friends and family from abroad to stay if it is for a short period and 8% not all. Pressured from all angles, property investors need to create firm boundaries on what they will and will not do…
