Increased Flexibility For Tenants With Pets

Since the launch of the Dog Trusts Lets With Pets campaign, property investors and letting agents have been called upon to be more flexible towards allowing tenants to keep pets in their property lets…

Under this initiative, which has been praised by the National Approved Letting Scheme, property investors have been made to realise that the UK is a nation of pet lovers.

With 43% of property owners owning at least one pet, property advisors feel that attitudes towards tenants and pets need to be modified as currently property investors are missing out on a great tenancy niche.

During their campaign they have invited property investors to consider letting to tenants with pets on the premise that they will pay a slightly higher rate of rent as well as arrange for the property to be cleaned when their tenancy agreement has finished.

By including these amended rules in their tenancy agreements, property investors can feel confident about receiving long term excellent tenants as pet owners will be more reluctant to move and search for a new property let.
